Beavercreek Citizens Academy - Beavercreek Citizens Academy - Senior Center 2025 We’re bringing the Beavercreek Citizens Academy to the senior center! This six-week program offers an in-depth look at city programs and services. Each session will feature a presentation by city staff on a different department or division, including finance, engineering, public service, parks, planning and development, police, communications, and more. This academy is exclusively for city residents.Please register only if you can attend at least five of the six classes. Additionally, this academy does not include facility tours. If you are interested in participating in a Citizens Academy that offers tours, please sign up for the city's evening Citizens Academy, which will be offered this fall.April 30: City Manager and FinancesLearn about the city’s form of government. Gain insight into how the city is funded and its award-winning finance and budgeting department. May 7: Beavercreek Police DepartmentFrom crime-solving tactics to community outreach, you will get a unique opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge from those who serve and protect the Beavercreek community. May 14: Engineering and Public ServiceLearn about the city’s engineering process and learn about upcoming projects. May 21: Planning and Development / Code EnforcementDelve into the intricate processes of your local planning department, including the city’s role in development. Explore the possibilities of code enforcement to gain a deeper understanding of regulations, compliance, and the role in maintaining the beauty and safety of the community. May 28: Parks and Recreation, Senior Center, and Golf ClubTake a close look at the city’s award-winning parks system and recreational programming. Learn about the exceptional facilities and services offered at the Beavercreek Golf Club. June 4: Communications, City Council, and GraduationLearn about how the city communicates with its citizens and ways you can get involved in the community. Celebrate your completion of the academy with the mayor and members of city council.
