Movies – Films – did not always have music as a critical element adding to the enjoyment and tension of a film. Doug Goetz will share his background of dealing with music in film with our center. From its early days with a live piano/pianist accompanying a film with either improvised parts or from a score – to modern film and lavish film scores – this presentation will provide a historical overview of the more than 100 years of music in film. And of course, there will be lots of musical examples for you to say, “I know that music, what film was it from?”
