Budding Artists (5-7 Years)

Summer vacation is just around the corner! In this series we will have summery themed art projects to get us in the mood for blue skies, beaches, and fun! There will be seashell pottery painting with wacky glaze techniques and different shell designs to choose from, learn how to create a realistic textured beach scene on wooden plaques (perfect for hanging on a wall to welcome summer!) a two part water color and colorful sand process painting, and a cute little polymer clay pencil buddy/finger puppet project to end the series.
Please note pottery painting projects will need to be fired and will be ready approximately 2-3 weeks after the last day of the series. The Parks office will notify you via email when they are available for pick up at the Park’s office.

Adult Pottery Painting Workshop: What's in YOUR cup?

Please note: The correct date for class is Sunday, May 18, 10:30 a.m. to NOON
Tea drinker? Ice Coffee? Bahama Mama? What’s in YOUR cup this summer? In this adults only workshop you can choose from a few fun drinkware designs that include mugs, cups, and funky margarita designs. Each piece will be clear coated so they’re 100% food safe and top rack dishwasher safe (though I recommend washing by hand).
After painting, please enjoy some light NON-ALCOHOLIC refreshments.
Pieces will be fired and ready approximately three weeks after the workshop (due to pottery size these do take a little more time!). The Parks office will notify you via email when they are available for pick up at the Park’s office.

Not Just the Brush Art Camp

Ages 8-11, and ages 5-7 with parent participant
You asked for it, summer art camp is back! If you have a child who LOVES art, this is a great opportunity to start the summer off on a creative foot! For four mornings we will create in clay, pottery paint, make friendship bracelets/necklaces with polymer and beads, a pirate themed craft with a treasure hunt, and what’s an art camp without a little painting? Yes! We will be painting with acrylic as well as watercolor in this camp!
Each camper will receive one apron on the first day of camp to decorate and wear to camp each day.
Participants are welcome to bring a water bottle and a light snack with them as we will take a small break around 10 a.m. each day.
Clay and pottery pieces will be ready for pick up approximately three weeks after the camp (please allow additional time as clay needs time to dry before firing). The Parks office will notify you via email when they are available for pick up at the Park’s office.

Back to School Painting Bash!

Ages 9-12, younger children may attend with parent/guardian
Lets have a painting party before we go back to school! There will be a couple of fun themed painting designs to choose from (or make up your own design!) and a choice of black or white canvases. Feel like painting on something other than canvas? No problem! There will a couple of fun fall wood cut options, how you paint them is up to you! Can’t remember your color mixing? Forgot how to make a golden color? Ask! You’re in the right place.
After painting, feel free to enjoy some light snacks and take home a small little goody bag of fun!
As there is always a potential for spills and paint globs, please come dressed accordingly.

Fall-ing for Gnomies and Fairies! Workshop

Back by request! The Gnomies are back with a twist! Represent your favorite football team with a decked out pottery gnome that YOU design, or paint a fall themed fairy house, the options will be different from our spring themed event so don’t miss the opportunity to add more to your collection! There will be light refreshments, coffee and tea provided.
All materials are included.

The Littlest Pinch Pot Clay Workshop

A parent/guardian must attend class with child.
This workshop is for the littlest of artists in our world! Small hands (with the help of their grownup!) will learn how to make some fun pinch pot shapes (apples, leaves, an animal, etc) to get them ready for hand building with clay! Our pinch pots can be lightly decorated with other additional clay embellishments (stems, leaves, eyes, etc) then it’s time to glaze! As there is always a potential for messes please have your little artists (and you!) dressed to get messy!
All materials are included.
Pinch pots will need time after class to dry before firing. They will be ready for pick up approximately three weeks after the workshop. The Parks office will notify you via email when they are available for pick up at the Park’s office.
