Enjoy a variety of art classes and workshops with The Purple Paintbrush Owner/Instructor, Kristin Bailey!

A Very Merry Unbirthday! Family Pottery Painting Party
  • Come as you are or dress up for a par-TEA! Participants will get to paint one tea cup and saucer.
  • Light refreshments of tea and locally made baked goodies will be available (please note cookies may contain gluten, milk, eggs, and other food allergens!) after painting.
  • Each painter will get to take home a little tea party themed goody bag.
  • Tea Cups and Saucers will be available approximately two weeks after the class and are food safe! The parks office will notify everyone of when they are ready!
  • Each registration includes 1 tea cup and saucer to glaze, please register separately if grownups and/or siblings would like to paint their own!

Budding Artists (8-10 Years)
  • Saturdays, September 7 - 21: Our theme for this series is “Tiny Treasures!” Participants will be looking at art through a smaller lens during this series as we create on a mini-scale! Projects include mini canvas paintings, drawing games, sculpting small with kiln fire clay, jewelry making, and more! Each student will receive a small wooden treasure box to paint, and store their creations-if they made them small enough! Please note kiln fire projects will be available approximately two weeks after the class. The Parks office will notify everyone when they are ready for pick up.
  • Saturdays, November 9 - 23: This is the last Budding Artists class until 2025! We’re heading into one of the most wonderful times of the year and we’re starting it off with one of my favorite projects: Painting hot cocoa mugs! Students will have options from two mug designs they will paint with glaze (will be clear coated to ensure food safety) We will also learn how to draw and paint a wacky hot cocoa mug on canvas (with “marshmallows”) students will also be creating a large melted snowman ornament using a mixture of Styrofoam, felt, and other crafty elements to embellish their snowman with! Mugs will be fired and ready approximately two weeks after the last class: parents will be notified via email used to register for the class.

Adult Acrylic Painting in the Landscape Workshop
  • Spend a relaxing evening painting in the landscape! No experience is required, this is meant to be a no-stress painting opportunity to try something new!
  • Please come dressed for the weather, it could be chilly! (if the day calls for rain or inclement weather, class will be rescheduled)
